I came across this project on 14.2.2021. In the article I will describe why I like it and why I will support the project. At the same time, this article will act as a bit of a “diary” of how the project has evolved over time.

Why Univexe attracted me ?
I have been at Elrond NFT for a relatively short time. Since December 2021. But I realized pretty quickly that I’m not going to jump into every project that comes on the market just because it might be profitable.
And I don’t understand those pixelated 10K collections at all. I find it pretty crazy to generate such quantities of “impersonal images”. It looks to me like other NFT networks and trends are being copied from each other.
That’s why when I came across Univex, I was immediately intrigued. This is what the cards look like:
- 100% handmade
- Non generative art
- Limited supply with an increase of the price between each drop
- Limited WL members
NFT will serve as access cards to a future animated series that will represent each main character in these NFT.
I tried to find out from the creators of the project what their idea of the series is and where it should be aired. It’s too early to get that answer yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.
So the NFT makes up the character cards for this series. I like this one the best so far (Taken from Discord from the Sneak-peek channel with permission of the authors.):
Roadmap
The roadmap in the picture describes the planned development of the project up to the moment of work on the animated series itself. I myself am curious to see what the series will look like and what it will be about :)
Brief roadmap summary:
1st collection
- 250 unique cards
- mint price 0,75 EGLD (WL for 0,65 EGLD)

2st collection
- 500 unique cards
- mint price 0,95 EGLD (WL for 0,85 EGLD)

- 1000 unique cards
- mint price 1 EGLD (WL for 1 EGLD)

Total supply: 1750 unique cards
And this is what is interesting to me :) That the cards will gradually be issued in small quantities. And it’s not going to be a mass production…
The cards present different characters in the animated series. There are 7 characters in total. There are 250 cards per character.
Drop 1 : 250 NFTs = 1 main character
Drop 2 : 500 NFTs = 2 main characters
Drop 3 : 1000 NFTs = 4 main characters
Each character is presented as different “people” with different rarities, different clothes, different hair …
Who is the creator of the project?
I picked this up from a recent Twitter post:
Univexe’s ambition is to highlight artistic talent by offering unique handmade creations by real comic book illustrators.
But currently, for now, the team is essentially anonymous. I tried to find out more on Discord. I asked the following question there:
“I am trying to find out more details gradually. Now I’m wondering if the founders of the project are anonymous or not. If they are not anonymous, is there somewhere to look for previous references? I’m just interested in the previous experience of the team.”
So far I have received this answer:
“Whitepaper coming soon with all team members, past experiences,…”
So I’ll wait for the Whitepaper and I’m curious about the team itself and their experience. The team is otherwise from Belgium. I’ll add the details to the article here then.
How to be a Whitelist member?
If you looked closely at the Roadmap picture, you can see that getting a Whitelist to buy an NFT is really challenging. This is just not a project for people who want to do a quick flip and move on. The team is trying to build a strong, maybe even preferably smaller community.
Currently (19.2.2022) the first 25 WL places are already filled.
In total, WL can get 100 people. So for the next two rounds ( +25 seats and +50 seats) we have a total of 75 seats left. These can be won by anyone who tries according to the description on Discord:

Personally, I think the artwork is really high quality. And I believe that we will see more and more of such high quality projects on Elrond and we will gradually forget about the era of “pixel art” 😊
